ARE KINESIOLOGY SERVICES COVERED UNDER EXTENDED BENEFITS?

The most progressive, comprehensive extended health care benefit plans include Kinesiology Services.  Please call your insurer and ask in advance of your session whether your policy covers Kinesiology Services. **IF YOUR EXTENDED HEALTH CARE BENEFIT PLAN DOES NOT COVER KINESIOLOGY SERVICES THEY ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. You can deduct the services of a Registered Kinesiologist as a medical expense on line 331 of your tax return. See the Canada Revenue Agency website for details.

DO I REQUIRE A DOCTOR’S NOTE FOR TREATMENT?

If you have an extended health care benefit plan you may require a Doctor’s referral for reimbursement for Kinesiology Services. A Doctor’s referral is always beneficial as is any diagnostic results for valuable insight into your condition (as Registered Kinesiologists like Registered Massage Therapists cannot diagnose).
